Ryan Oosting A Double Winner in Massachusetts By Mary Albl of DyeStat As a tune up to next Friday's Brooks PR Invitational 2-mile, Arlington junior Ryan Oosting dominated the distance events at the Massachusetts MIAA All-State Track and Field Meet on Saturday. At Fitchburg State University, Oosting won the mile (4:14.09) and 2-mile (9:06.17). Milton junior Charles Smith won the high jump (6-10) and the long jump (23-9.50). Lewiston boys won the team title with 55 points, as sophomore Richmond Kwaateng won the 100 (10.70) and placed fifth in the long jump. On the girls side, Bromfield senior Chloe Alfieri won the 100 in 12.09 and then broke a meet record on the way to winning the 200 (24.47). Acton-Boxborough senior Samantha Friborg won the 800 in US#3 2:07.27, just missing out on the meet record of 2:07.14. Distance standout junior Grace Connolly of Natick clocked 4:51.96 to win the mile. Belmont senior Anoush Krafian clocked 14.26 to win the 100 hurdles. Senior Shira Stoller of Sharon won the javelin with a meet record throw of 156-10. The Wellesley girls won the team title with 35 points, edging out Bromfield (34).
